The worlds falling apart...Lets Knit!!

While I may not be able to help balance out the difference between the extreme rich and the growing poor, I can at least help myself by knitting and selling it to supplement my almost non-existent income for disability. Ha!

Right now I'm trying to find the best way to sell my stuff so I can purchase yarn and supplies to make socks and gloves for hospitalized and/or homeless veterans. I'm not doing too bad on e-bay as long as I keep making Jayne Cobb hats. They go pretty fast, but I get discouraged when people pick one up at the opening bid price and it doesn't get bid up to the amount I put in for "Buy it Now". I also tried out Listia. People really love to get my gloves, but the bidding doesn't go up very well and I never make enough points to use to buy yarn with. I keep being outbid.

So today I gave Yardsellr a try. I'm waiting to see if my stuff will sell there. I bought some yarn from it tonight and I like the fact that you don't actually bid on the stuff. I have a pair of gloves up for sale there now. I have been finding some good deals on yarn on e-bay lately. If I'm going to use cheap acrylic, I like it to be "soft" yarn. Unfortunately the soft stuff costs more than just getting a Super Saver skein of the cheap scratchy stuff.

I almost got a spinning wheel last month. My room mate moved out and was going to give me a chunk of money to make up for all the rent that he wasn't able to pay while he was living with us, but at the last minute he told me that he couldn't pay me after all. I had even researched and found the right starting wheel that I could afford and was researching places to get wool to use to spin. Oh well, maybe another time.

That's about all my news about cheap knitting. I have managed to acquire another blog that I'm writing about doing fiber arts with fibromyalgia pain and neuropathy in my hands. http://fibropinsandneedles.blogspot.com/
